The beginning of Resilience Pictures started off as a brand created by my sister, Sinde which describes the resilient nature of human beings.
Some of the athletes I’ve met competed in athletic fitness competitions as a means to conquer anxiety.
Sinde was a fitness competitor who competed to conquer similar problems, so she came up with “Resilience” as a means to represent those who’s come from hard times or have struggled in their life.
Some people deal with financial hardship or physical impairment and set backs, which makes good things come harder.
Some of us get knocked down and get knocked down hard, but those who can come back from it, come back stronger.
They are resilient.
I think that life is difficult. People have challenges.
Family members get sick, people get older, you don’t always get the job or the promotion that you want. You have conflicts in your life. And really, life is about your resilience and your ability to go through your life and all of the ups and downs with a positive attitude.
Resilience Pictures began as a starting point for me, Andy H. Tu to document the athletic end result of their their struggles. The part they spent their blood sweat and tears on to achieve.
I depict the resilience of athletes in their respective sport by creating artistic interpretations of human anatomy in it’s finest form, when they are at their pinnacle form because I believe confidence and power is the best outfit a person can wear. I want my photos to remember these moments forever.
"All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me...
You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you." -Walt Disney
