Hump Day is a Happy Day
Happy Hump Day!
I am Hypnotizing you with the Booty.
Happy Hump Day to you everyone. I had to look up what Hump Day was since everyone kept using that phrase every week on Instagram.
For the longest time, it didn’t hit me that it is on a Wednesday and thought the day represent a day where we’re all proud of our booties. I am too far off! It makes me feel old not knowing what that means, so it is time to get with the times and google this the phrase up.

Hump Day is on a Wednesday, the middle of the week. It implies that you have to get “over the hump” before you can anticipate the weekend.
The term was not originally intended to carry a second, more risque meaning but eventually popular on Instagram for it’s booty reference. Nice!
Consider the week like a mountain you must scale to get past it. You climb up, which is hard work, until you reach the summit. The rest of the way is still hard work, but at least you are walking downhill, which isn’t as hard. You have gotten “over the hump,” in other words, the hardest part is behind you.
When you come in to work on Wednesday, you still have three of five work days ahead of you. When you leave, there are only two. You’re more than halfway through the work week, so you’re over the hump. About thirty or forty years ago, someone began using the phrase “hump day,” but of course it really caught on big when Geico made that silly ad with the camel. If you’re curious, check it out here!
