Making connections is so important to grow our mind.  We spend so much of our lives chasing goals that it can be easy to forget how important synergy can be.  It is that special connection where mysterious factors can come together. To create results that are far greater than the sum of their parts.

Places I often experience synergy are at training gyms. Rock climbing gyms like Planet Granite and MMA Gyms have teamwork. In these places, people work together by pushing one another to improve.  Everyone has a different starting point

Everyone has a different starting point

We all have different starting point and strengths that lend to benefit others. It’s fun to see someone who has skills in wrestling while others in muay thai.  Likewise, it’s fun to see someone who has gone to medical school restart their life at an art school. Then discover a passion for business marketing. Subsequently able to hone these interest and skills to fit you.

These types of connection are possible whenever you get a mixture of unique talents. Emotion, intellect and creativity among many things that can compliment other’s skills.

Unfortunately, these types of connection doesn’t always happen. But it’s still worth reaching out, because you never know.

The picture that forms when you start drawing lines between your own life and the people you connect with will soon become a map for a future so promising that you’ll want to making connections.  I recommend you leaving your comfort zone for awhile to meet new people.  Keep that momentum going and you might not want to stop.  Or you will. You never know until you try.

Follow Your Bliss

Life has been hectic for me, trying to enjoy life and build a foundation for your future can be hard to balance.  I wouldn’t say I’ve taken  some wrong turns, but some of the paths I’ve taken have lead me to some unhappy turmoil.

There have been a lot of struggles, but the important thing to remember is that every champion was once a contender who refused to give up.  I’ll repeat it again.  Along the way, make friends and don’t forget to make connections.  We’re always dreaming, but don’t always just dream.

Carlos at The Dark Horse Gym in San Jose, invited me to take photos of their training and meet their training staff.

It was during the time when I realized I wanted to gain some financial freedom and started reaching out.  I’ve always had anxiety growing up, so reaching out was two birds with one stone.

It allowed me to make connections and to face my fear of social anxiety.  If I am going to be a photographer, I need to be able to meet people.  Going in one more round when you don’t think you can.  That’s what makes all the differences in your life.

Facing your fears for a lot of us means overcoming your weakness.  Follow your bliss.  It isn’t a marketing campaign or brand guideline.  Bliss is a finely-tuned blend of desire and aptitude.  It’s the thing your very bones are inclined to do.  It’s the reason some of us become champions and some watch champions become champions.

Let’s Get It! Making connections with a left jab to the core

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows.
It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees
and keep you there permanently if you let it.
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward.
How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth.
But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody.
Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that.”
